Coordinator of the ‘Task Force in Wound Healing’ inside the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV). Gulnaz Tariq (UAE)
Unit Manager for Wound Care in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is a Registered Nurse with a Post Graduate Diploma and BSc. She trained as a nurse in the armed forces and graduated with a gold medal and post-graduation with HONOURs. She has pursued further international wound care training by joining the International Inter-professional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) IR from University of Toronto in 2007, becoming the current course Co Director for the IIWCC for UAE. She has completed her MSc in Skin Integrity from University of Hertfordshire (UK) in 2014. Founder and course director of the Ostomy Care and Management (OCM), she has over 20 scientific publications. She has organized the Abu Dhabi Wound Care Conference for the past 10 years. Founder of International Inter-professional Wound Care Group (IIWCG) she was elected to be President of IIWCG.
Sadanori Akita (Japan)
He got his residency in Plastic Surgery at Nagasaki University Hospital, Japan and later his PhD from the Graduate School of Nagasaki University specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Research fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under the supervision of Shlomo Melmed on a cytokine expression and its regulation in vivo by using a transgenic animal model. He held the position of General Secretary of the 4th WUWHS Congress (Yokohama, Japan, Sept 2-6 2012), becoming the President of the WUWHS for the years 2012-2016. He is currently the President of the Asian Wound Care Association (AWCA). His research interests include: Cytokines and Stem cells in Wound Healing, Difficult Wound Healing (radiation injury), Regenerative Tissue enhancement to HIV-drug related-wasting patients, Reconstructive Surgery, Burn and Craniofacial Surgery. His list of publications include 85 peer-reviewed English original articles, 15 English overviews and 18 English-book chapters with 3 editorship of the books.

Valentina Dini (Italy)
She got both her residency in Dermatology and Venereology (2005) and her PhD degree in Immunology and Biotechnology of Transplantation (2009) at University of Pisa, Italy where she is currently researcher at the Dermatology Unit - Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Her main research interests are focused on Tissue Repair of Chronic Wounds, all aspects of Translational Research in Wound Healing and Psoriasis. The major part of her activities was focused on setting up her laboratory of Non-invasive Diagnostic Techniques for skin assessment. She has ongoing collaborations with the Rheumatology Unit and the Chemistry Unit of the University of Pisa in a variety of pre-clinical and clinical studies. Her scientific accomplishments resulted in numerous publications in prominent scientific journals. She continues to dedicate her efforts to research and education through supervising clinical care of the Unit’s residents and providing clinical and dermatopathology teaching cases as well as frequently participating in research projects and teaching in national and international conferences. President of the International School of Tissue Repair (SIRTES, Pisa, Italy) since 2010. She is the author of several papers and lectures to international conferences and chapters in international books. Member of the editorial board of Acta Vulnologica, Chronic wound care and Research journals.
Guido Ciprandi (Italy)
Managing director for Pressure Ulcer and Complex Lesions Project in the Unit of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Surgery, Bambino Gesu' Children's Hospital, IRCCS, Rome, Italy. Professor of Wound Care at the Universities of Rome, Florence, Turin and Trieste, he is Director of the Annual Course of Pediatric Wound Care and Burns, first in the world, organized at Bambino Gesu’ Children’s Hospital of Rome. He is member of European Pediatric Surgical Association, Italian Association for Pediatric Surgery, European Wound Management Association. He is also Trustee in European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel and Founding President of the International Society of Pediatric Wound Care. He has contributed extensively in the various fields of Pediatric Surgery, including Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Thoracic and Tracheal Surgery, Oncological Surgery, Microvascular surgery, Fetal Surgery, Wound Care, Complex Wounds and Noma, NPWT, Skin Bioengineering. Among his clinical research efforts are studies concerning Hirschsprung Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Wilms’ Tumor, Neuroblastoma, Pressure Ulcers, Neonatal Ulcers, Propeller flaps, Ethics and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in children and neonates. Additionally, Dr. Ciprandi has influenced his field through educational activities. He is also a frequent invited lecturer and visiting professor throughout the world and author of more than 200 scientific publications.

Pasquale Longobardi (Italy)
Degree in Medicine and Surgery at Naples University, Italy, postgraduate specialization in ‘Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine’ at Chieti University, Italy, researcher at the Research and Hyperbaric Studies Institute of Naples and member of Interdisciplinary Hyperbaric Medical School of Naples (SIMIN). Since 1989 he is Medical Director at the Hyperbaric Centre of Ravenna, part of the Local Health Unit of Ravenna Emergency Department, while since 1993 he is Medical representative for Italy in the European Diving Technology Committee (EDTC) and member of EDTC Executive Committee. Member of several Committees such as the European Committee on Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) and EDTC Technical and Training, the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) Executive Board and the Diving Medical Technology Committee (DMAC).
